Community Funded Learning for Salford Residents

We have been working with Salford City College since 2015, delivering a number of courses for Salford residents, aimed at getting people back into work.

The courses include Forklift Training on both the Reach and Counterbalance trucks which caters for both novice and experienced drivers and have been an excellent opportunity to help people gain employment in local companies. The courses have also given our learners the opportunity to gain warehousing skills and knowledge by completing practical work in the foodbank warehouse.

We also deliver Health & Safety and construction course tailored for individuals who want to work in the construction industry and who want to work towards gaining their CSCS cards.

These courses are available to any resident over 19 years of age who lives in the city of Salford area and are delivered from the community rooms in Salford’s local fire stations and also at our training centre in Trafford Park.

We have trained over 1,100 people since 2015 with our courses held weekly.

We work with a large number of agencies in Salford who refer learners onto our courses which includes Jobcentre Plus, Salford Foundation, Probation Service, National Careers Service, Broughton Trust, Connexions, Salix Homes, Seetec, Young Fathers Project, Big Life Group, and the Salford Prison Project to name a few.
